West Ham are doing work on “interesting” new manager besides Slaven Bilic
da mrbet: West Ham United are assessing potential candidates to succeed Graham Potter, with the Englishman clinging to his job by a thread.
Graham Potter facing West Ham sack after poor Premier League start
da aviator aposta: It’s been over nine months since David Sullivan elected to appoint Potter as Julen Lopetegui’s successor at the London Stadium, but calls for his P45 are now mounting following a disastrous tenure in charge so far.
Since Potter’s arrival, only Avram Grant’s relegated West Ham side from 2010/2011 boast a worse Premier League win percentage, and they’ve conceded more goals than any other side in the top flight so far this season.

This, combined with tepid performances, disjointed play and a severe vulnerability from set pieces, have left Potter dangerously close to losing his job less than one year into the role.
Some media sources believe that the 50-year-old could be sacked by West Ham if they fail to beat Crystal Palace this weekend, with Sullivan keen to avoid another Lopetegui-style ‘will they, won’t they’ saga amid serious discontent among supporters.
West Ham secured their first victory of the season prior to the international break with an excellent 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest, but failure to beat Palace could mean that performance will prove irrelevant.
The Irons reportedly have a host of managers on their rumoured shortlist to replace Potter, including Nuno Espírito Santo, Kieran McKenna and Frank Lampard.
However, it has now come to light that former manager Slaven Bilic is also a contender for the hot seat, after news broke today that Sullivan is seriously considering re-hiring the Croatian again.
That being said, he isn’t the only “interesting” option, as relayed by journalist Graeme Bailey.
West Ham doing work on Gary O'Neil ahead of potential move
Speaking to Hammers News, the reporter states that former Wolves and Bournemouth boss, not to mention ex-West Ham midfielder, Gary O’Neil, is also being looked at by the east Londoners.
In terms of whether the latter would be a good option, that is very much up for debate.
Would Gary O'Neil succeed at West Ham?
At Bournemouth, he performed a minor miracle — steering them clear of relegation when almost everyone had written them off. Then at Wolves, he took charge in difficult circumstances after Julen Lopetegui’s sudden exit and turned them into a briefly competitive side.
He was ultimately sacked soon after the famous ‘El Sackico’ between West Ham and Wolves last year, which supporters will remember all too well.
O’Neil is also still very much at the start of his managerial career and has never worked at a club with genuine European ambitions.
The step-up would be huge and the atmosphere around east London right now is very toxic. There’s no guarantee his pragmatic style could sustain long-term success, as his work so far has largely been about short-term survival.
